Anawangin is a beach resort in Zambales. A perfect getaway from city’s stressful environment. A place where you can get a relaxation and be with nature.

Electricity is not available in the cove. I found no clean water source in there so I guess vacationists should bring their own and ice blocks too.

We got there by car but to reach it using public transportation, one should ride a Victory Liner bus in Caloocan with signboard Iba or Sta Cruz, Zambales. Fare should be around 300 or less. Tell the conductor to drop you off at San Antonio’s public market. The ride should take 3-4 hours depending on traffic. There will be 2 stopovers, one on Double Happiness Pampanga and the other on Victory Liner station in Olangapo.

From the market, get a tricycle to Pundaquit. Fare is 30 per person. From Pundaquit, ride a boat going to Anawangin cove which may take up to 30 minutes. The fare may differ depending on your negotiation with the boatmen but it should be around 800 per 3-4 persons.

Each has to pay a 100 per night of stay to the caretakers. Sand there is white but not a fine one as it’s mainly lahar from Mt. Pinatubo. At the back are pine trees which gives a very pleasant surrounding.

Things I suggest to bring:

Tent: For sleeping or any other purposes you may think of.
Water: Clean water for drinking.
Stoves, Charcoal and Firestarters: Extremely needed for cooking.
Blanket: Area may be too cold depending on the season.
Of course, FOOD and LIQUORS!!! ^_^

We stopped from one of Olongapo’s pizza

houses along the road where there’s unlimited pizza. However, we arrived early around 9am and the unlimited pizza starts at 12pm. Still, this one large order is good enough for us.
